There are two reasons why the peacock is called the king of all birds.

One is because, in Eastern legends, the peacock was conceived by the phoenix and has a noble status.

The second is that the peacock is beautiful and has been sought after since ancient times because of its auspicious and luxurious features.

The male peacock has bright green feathers with a purple-bronze shine on its lower back.

The tail feathers are particularly well-developed and are usually gathered behind the body, stretching out to a length of about 1 meter, which is called the "peacock open screen".

These feathers are gorgeous and colorful feather branches are long and thin, like golden-green velvet.

They also have many large eye-like spots composed of purple, blue, yellow, red, and other colors at their ends.

When they open the screen reflects the luster, as if countless small mirrors, really bright and eye-catching.

Therefore, the peacock is called "the king of all birds".

The two male species of the genus Peacock are about 90 ~ 130 cm in length and have a tail screen up to 150 cm long and a bright metallic green color.

The male is about 1.4 meters long and the female is about 1.1 meters in length.

The crown of feathers on the top of the head stands tall and elegant.

The female peacock has no tail screen and has a rich brown back with a greenish glow.

As a result, female peacocks are not as beautiful as male peacocks.

There are green peacocks and blue peacocks.

The blue peacock's body feathers are mainly a metallic blue-green color.

The green peacock has a long tail similar to that of the blue peacock, with a mixture of green and copper body feathers.

However, both species of females have green and brown body feathers, and their body length and size are not as long as that of males without a long tail screen and without crown feathers.

Peacock opening is very important for males.

1. Male peacocks need to open their tail feathers to attract the opposite sex during the breeding season.

Obviously whoever has larger and more colorful tail feathers is more likely to be favored by the opposite sex.

2. The difference in the dichotomy of peacocks leads to the fact that males will be the first to be spotted by predators.

Therefore, the tail feathers, which look like they are covered with numerous eyes, are also useful in scaring off predators and helping them escape.

The habitat of peacock is mostly open grassland below 2000 meters above sea level, and it especially likes to be active near the banks of streams and rivers and in open places in the forest, often with 3-5 birds together.

It is not good at flying, and when it encounters danger, it uses its strong feet to escape quickly and hide in the dense forest at any time.

Early morning and dusk are the time when they feed in groups.

At noon, when the weather is hot, they go into the jungle to rest.

At night, they have a fixed place to spend the night and do not change easily if they are not disturbed.

Male peacocks should choose a large tree where they can place their tail screen to rest.

Peacocks also have very good symbolism.

The peacock has the symbolism of happiness and fullness. To the Chinese, the peacock represents kindness and wisdom.

In Greek mythology, the peacock symbolizes the goddess Hera.
